When summer turns up the heat
There are times when the body begins to feel too warm, too sharp, or easily irritated. Digestion becomes more sensitive. Emotions can feel closer to the surface.
This is often a sign of excess heat in the system. In Ayurveda, it is understood as an imbalance in Pitta.
This workshop is a simple, practical way to begin bringing that heat back into balance — through the food you prepare and eat every day.
Full vegetarian and vegan alternatives provided throughout.
When the body overheats, everything begins to accelerate. This work restores balance — not by restriction, but by bringing back the qualities that cool, soften and steady.

In Ayurveda, summer is when the elemental fire of the world meets the elemental fire of the body. Pitta — the dosha of heat, sharpness and intensity — naturally accumulates. The body asks for cooling, for moisture, for softness in taste and pace. The right food at the right moment soothes that heat rather than feeding it.
In each recipe I talk through why I have chosen what I have — so you take home the principles, not only the dishes and can cook this way for yourself long after.
This is seasonal food as medicine.
